We arrived very wet and cold having travelled by road bike from St Jean Pied de Port in a snow storm. There were no rooms left, but the wonderfully helpful staff found us a bed for the night, hot shower, not luxury but hugely welcome. Good food, plenty of warm cafe con leche, or te con limon to get us warm again. Staff were extremely busy with full restaurant over lunch and all evening it seems. so grateful- thank you.
Very unfriendly staff. They scowl as they serve terrible food. My vegetable ‘soup’ was a bowl of OLD vegetables that were cooked for what looked like no less than 1 year. The veggies were soft and disgusting!! The waiters do not care. They shrug and take forever to bring water and drinks. The food looks and tastes nothing like the pictures. Avoid at all costs.
We were not too hungry for dinner so I had a whole pot of excellent fish soup, and my wife had a salad and later on a flan just like the way she use to make; with slightly bitter caramel. The wine was good. The waitress was a real professional.
I ate here, but did not sleep here. The food was delicious and the beer was excellent. The food service was a bit slow, and I say that as a non-demanding person. I guess the Server was a bit busy. Although the restaurant is at the far end of the village, it is only a 10-minute walk from the village center.
Decent food quality. Staff worked hard. Reasonable priced menu. Overall satisfying experience.
