5 / 5 This was a fantastic place to stay on the camino. The owner met us outside and helped us with our bikes and let us store them in a locked area. We came in late and were very tired and he gave us the option to check out whenever we would like so we could sleep in. He was worried about us biking back up the huge hill after dinner and even offered to drive us into town so we could avoid it - we made the mistake of not taking him up and it was quite a hill after a bottle of wine lol.
The room was beautiful, clean, and quiet. There was a very pretty small lawn where you can sit if you want some time outside. Its a beautiful property, and the two people we interacted with who were working were phenomenally kind and helpful. Luarca is an amazing town as well, I recommend spending some time there on your journey.
1 / 5 Great and funny lady at the reception but that's all. I'm a single traveller doing the Camino, just need a bed and a bathtub to ease my muscle cramps that's all. This place is a disgrace.
The hotel is located right on a busy road. Ultra dark, humid rooms with no daylight, window (1x) facing a dirty wall, so uncomfortable 🥵. Rooms advertised with bathtub, which is so small it doesn't even fit a 5 year old kid.
Went back to reception, politely asked to cancel please. The owner had to come over, had me wait for 10 minutes, threw my money back at me and started yelling in Spanish. I offered the google translate app to hear her comments but she told me off.
This hotel was okay 60 years ago, a shame it is so run down now. I understand, it's a family hotel but clearly the current owner didn't care since decades. Why don't you sell it, buy a beach house and make space for younger, new hotel concepts that like what they are doing :)
I walked just 3km more into town and boy it is stunningly beautiful. Walk the extra mile ... Literally.
It's worth it.
5 / 5 The hotel is has been remodeled and updated. We recently stayed there for a weeks vacation in the area and were also using one of the owners other properties! Good spot, close to the Camino and a grocery store is across the street.
5 / 5 Clean room
2 / 5 Living here is quite uncomfortable. The village at the foot of the mountain is very far away; if you walk, it's all uphill and downhill, not flat. Driving is also difficult because the road is very narrow, and when two cars pass each other, one has to move over.
The worst part is that there's absolutely nothing around: no restaurants, no shops. The nearest shop is about 300 meters away, but you have to walk along the road where cars drive, which is quite dangerous.
The hotel room is fine, though, but it's best not to use the Wi-Fi; it's not secure. One night, someone projected pornographic videos onto my phone; since it's an Android, I couldn't block it. It was truly awful.
