I stayed two nights and it is a perfect location for exploring the old town. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and while it's they are missing a coffee machine, this is compensated by coffee options in the social room, and a number of cafes and restaurants literally out the front door. As it's in the old town, it can be noisy at night, so be sure to bring ear plugs. The best aspect of the Gurea is the staff - they are incredible and beyond helpful. My introduction to Bilbao was made better by them, even moreso as I was traveling solo. Eskerrik asko!
The hotel is a little basic, but spotlessly clean and wonderfully located in the heart of the old town. It has a small space as a social area with a shared fridge and a kettle. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you just a need a base and don't need bells and whistles then this is a great option. I'd happily stay here again.
Although this hotel is a basic accommodations, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a good place to stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Right in the center of old town Bilbao, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Parking is available through the hotel at a lot nearby.
We were greeted by Patricia who was very helpful as we had our dog with us, she was very pleasant and informative and was willing to spend time for us. Check out was a totally different experience the lady Sara who was on reception was quite abrupt and unpleasant she greeted with a frown and negative body language and went on to tell us we had to pay an additional 10 euros for the dog staying there .We had told the hotel we had a dog with us and we were not informed about the additional cost at that time.We were only staying 1 night and then onto the ferry terminal at Bilbao. Check out left a sour taste and we would not be returning.
Clean basic rooms in a very central location with incredibly helpful staff. There is also a small kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and a vending machine. We stayed in the four bed family room which was massive and had plenty of room for us all. They also helped us book discounted parking at the train station which is about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The room was very quiet at night with not noise from other rooms or from the streets outside
