We had such a lovely stay at Pension this week, it was a highlight of our road trip and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable and at home. This is a two star hotel, with some more basic features: parking is on-street a short walk away, and breakfast is a little cafe opposite but for a great price. It’s just 200m from the beach and right next to the old town. However, the rooms are spotlessly clean, the shower was great, the beds super comfortable. The room had so many small details, such as a little washing line on the balcony for swim wear, which were really well thought out. The hosts couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating, giving great advice and help whenever we needed it. Hard to explain, but there was just a lovely, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere which made it more than the sum of its parts. It feels like the hosts have put lots of thought, time and effort into making the hotel comfortable for all guests. I can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back soon.
Fantastic location just across from the beach. The family running it are friendly and helpful. Rooms a bit tired, decor dark and dated. There is no air con and it was hard to get to sleep as was so hot. Sheet and blanket bedding! Breakfast was across the road in a cafe and was fine.
Don't book this. The Pictures are fake, the rooms are in very bad conditon, the prices are way too high. The owner is the most unprofessionell and aggressiv we have ever experienced. Convince yourself by reading some of her replies on low ratings. Don't go there. There are so many way better hotels near by.
Decent room with a pretty unbeatable location in Getaria. Room itself is a bit old fashioned, with limited power outlets, a pretty cramped bathroom and no AC or ceiling fan (it was definitely a bit uncomfortable sleeping due to the heat/humidity in July). Service is solid, my Spanish is limited as is their English, but was fairly easy overall. Parking was a learning experience, and ultimately parked on the pier down near the water as the free parking spots on the streets nearby are usually always taken.
I loved staying here. The hosts were really friendly, so accommodating, the room was cosy and comfortable. Such a treat after a long hike. I also got recommendations for a wonderful dinner and received some complimentary plums for my hike the next day :)
