1 / 5 Be careful, you are entering a very special place here. This is a place of accommodation for Catholic pilgrims, which is entirely legitimate and respectable. But if you come here without knowing these conditions, you are not without exposing yourself to certain risks. This is what happened to my friend and me after a long day of walking: because we were not Catholic pilgrims, we were singled out, accused of wanting to take advantage of the place and were thrown out without any kindness and without any consideration for the fact that we did not know the conditions of entry to the place and for the fact that we found ourselves without a place to stay for the night. The people who manage this place seem to be struggling with a central commandment of their own religion: "love your neighbor as yourself," even if that neighbor is different from you. If Jesus, as he embodies the other, the stranger, the different, were to present himself here today, I believe he would be at risk of being rejected from this place in whose name it was built. Better to be warned before knocking on the door.
1 / 5 I was there at the end of September 2025. The old woman was such a B!!! Too bad, because of her attitude, 6 pilgrims had to deal with her power tripping behavior! It's just a volunteer gig. You don't have to be that crazy! Most pilgrims are full grown adults!
5 / 5 Very helpful and friendly hospitaleras. Between my not-the-best Spanish and their English, we somehow managed to communicate everything needed 😄.
The only downside is that it was pretty noisy at night due to a big street just over the window, so put on your earplugs or go to sleep early, so you can catch up ;).
5 / 5 albergue is not a hotel. If you want hotel-like facilities, you should pay more and go to a hotel. When staying at an albergue, pilgrims must be prepared to put up with some inconveniences and stay with gratitude toward those who provide the accommodation. The staff here were friendly, and the facilities were clean.See you again someday. Gracias ♥
1 / 5 Could have been a great Albergue except for the genuinely unpleasant tiny bureaucrat running the place. Turns out what I thought was the breakfast time slot of 6:30am was actually when they’d open the front door. I’m an early starter to avoid the heat and was made to wait 45 mins while the tiny tyrant was right there refusing to do a pilgrim a favour over a small miscommunication. Also raises the question of safety in these places that don’t have a push bar on the main door!
