The facilities at Casa Carmina are very good, but the service is terrible. The guesthouse charged us for an alleged damage to the room — a charge made only after our departure, without any prior notice, and applied to the credit card without any warning. When we disputed the charge, even informing Booking, Sara, from the guesthouse, presented a video from a security camera with both image and audio recording in an attempt to justify her point of view. Even though the audio does not serve the purpose Sara intended, it is clear that the management is unethical, since the security camera in the main hall — where meals are served — captures audio, which violates data protection laws. For these reasons, I do not recommend Casa Carmina, especially due to Sara’s passive-aggressive behavior. But if you’re fine having a meal knowing your image and voice are being recorded — good luck.
Chic albergue with amazing food (don't miss eating dinner there, great vegetarian options). Everything was clean and comfortable. Sarah and Laura are fun and welcoming. The door only opens at 15:00.
We are overjoyed at having to share an overnight at Casa Carmina. Our warm welcome was complete with the personal tour of the grounds and our lovely room. Our dinner was superb and excellently served. Our desert was a family favorite of the hotel owners and was exceptional. I offer my most heartfelt recommendation for this excellent property. Stay here with confidence that your stay will be restful and rewarding.
This was an amazing experience with an incredibly kind staff. It’s very clean, welcoming and delicious food! The yard in the back is a perfect spot to relax after a long grueling day of walking. I’d love to come back one day. Gracias a todos Hotel de Carmina!
Overall the stay was ok. The host was friendly and helpful and the dorms and bathrooms are clean. However compared to other Albergues I've stayed at it was lacking: no fridge for guests (the reason being that it would be illegal in Spain to provide a shared fridge.. just say it's not something you provide), no soap provided for washing clothes, shower is on a 3 second interval and lukewarm, no basic cooking ingredients e.g. oil, and restaurant guests (especially kids) were running and shouting until past 22:00. All things that made the stay more inconvenient than necessary and it would have been helpful for me to know in advance hence I'm sharing.
