Pensión Una Estrella Dorada

Una Estrella Dorada epitomises the typical Camino de Santiago accommodation: small but efficiently decorated, acceptably clean and located directly on the Camino. The service though could have been better: the receptionist was cold and not empathic at all, with an attitude unfortunately found in many places along the Camino: the staff seem annoyed and complacent of pilgrims, apparently forgetting that without them all these establishments would be immediately out of business! On the positive side, notwithstanding the room-only arrangement, a small kitchen was available for the guests and, unique finding, plastic trays for the backpacks was available in the rooms, which is quite a good idea in order to keep the room cleaner.

Top spot if you are in n the road and looking for place to rest! Incredible team, the pension is very close to a lot of restaurants and cafes, with a lot of choices to satisfy your hunger! The beds are comfortable, the pension extremely clean and wide kitchen space where you can prepare tea or use the refrigerator in hot Spanish days! Thumbs up!

I loved this place. The hospitality was outstanding. The rooms were super clean, bright and comfortable. And it had all of the amenities that a pilgrim needs. I loved how clean and bright the bathroom was. The fact that I could wash and hang my clothes from the window and clothes pins were provided was awesome. Also, Raquel - our host - went above and beyond to ensure our backpacks were properly transported and she assisted with anything else that we needed. Also, it is very conveniently located for all local shops and restaurants. Gracias!!

We were given a truly warm welcome by our host. He took his time showing us around and explained that two bedrooms share a bathroom. These bathrooms were fully stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. Fresh towels are provided. Each floor has a fully stocked kitchen and the host even provided me with an ice pack and a support pillow to support an injured knee. He gave us information on booking a taxi and gave us directions to the church. The house is so beautifully kept with gorgeous wooden floors covered with lovely rugs. The bedrooms are all beautiful with rubber mats for the bags to protect the floor. We did not need air conditioning, however, if it was warmer, air conditioning would have been a great advantage. All in all, a great place to stay on the Camino.

I booked a single room and I'm satisfied with my stay at Una Estrella Dorada. The room wasn't that big, yet it was the perfect place to crash after a day of walking on the Camino de Santiago. The bathroom was nice and clean. If you open the window, there is a clothesline to hang your laundry. There is a kitchen that guests can use. Wifi worked well throughout the pension. The girl who checked me in was very friendly and helpful and gave me directions to a couple of nice restaurants with a menu del dia. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
