We stopped by this family run restaurant/hotel while vacationing in Northern Spain. The food is very fresh and served with lots of good conversation and warmth. They have daily specials that are prepared daily and unique to the region. I did not stay the hotel which is run by the same family but the hotel is very cute and located between beaches and other other tourist areas. It is just far enough away to deliver the quintessential Spanish country side experience. It is not a fancy place but it is clean, decorated impeccably, and delivers all the warmth of the region. I would highly recommend.

The location near Comillas makes it easy to visit. However, the beds and pillows are incredibly uncomfortable, the room is small and full of mosquitoes. It's right next to the road, so there was a lot (a lot) of noise all night. The bathroom was somewhat neglected, and the toilet was constantly running. Cleaning was poor, and the staff was scarce; we didn't even get to meet them. I'm sorry to say I don't recommend it, especially since it's expensive for what they offer. We can't believe it only has two stars.

The staff were very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. The room was also very clean. The only downside was the room we stayed in, number 107. It smelled like sewage whenever it rained, which is common in Cantabria. None of the doors closed properly. The front door required a strong push to close, and you had to pull to turn the key to open it; the double-leaf windows also didn't close. Since the room was on the first floor and faced the main road, the noise from the broken doors was significant. The toilet seat wouldn't stay in place, so you couldn't urinate standing up, and if you sat down, the seat rested on your back—not pleasant at all. The other rooms, because we were in a large group, weren't as bad.

Zero value for money. 71 euros for a small, old, smelly room. The spring mattress creaks and you feel stuck in it just by sitting on it... right next to the road, noisy. No chair at all. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, nor would we return.
