We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Although breakfast wasn’t included, we tried it and it was excellent: a generous, high-quality selection and outstanding orange juice. The service was professional and attentive throughout. We stayed in an entry-level room with a less attractive view, so it’s worth requesting a better view in advance. The hotel is central and has its own elevator into town, which makes getting around very easy.

We stayed here four nights while visiting San Sebastián and absolutely loved it. We had a terrace room with sea view. Although some other reviews say you can’t really see the water, that was not the case for us. The view was spectacular. The hotel has its own elevator into the town so you don’t have to deal with stairs up and down every time you go out. It is very central and we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go within a 20 min walk from the hotel. Breakfast is simple but lovely and was a great way to start the day. Staff were also very kind and helpful. Upon checking we were given lists of the best restaurants and pintxos places to check out during our trip. Our room came with use of the spa which we enjoyed as well - there is a small resting pool, cold plunge, steam room and dry sauna. The gym is small but has the basic equipment you would need for a simple full body workout (cable machine, free weights, bench, mats, bike, treadmill and elliptical). San Sebastián quickly became one of our favourite places we’ve visited and this hotel played a big part in that. Thank you Catalonia team for making our stay so lovely!

Not worth the price. Had an ok stay but would not book it again. Located on a hill and 15mins from the sea. Access was via a long tunnel from the road. Very dark rooms and small windows. There was a public bench outside our small window so there was noice and a lack of privacy. My partner got food poisoning after dining at the restaurant which we told the staff at reception - but they did not react. The spa was fine, and massage treatment good. Breakfast was good and the staff that cleaned the rooms. I don’t recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We had booked a suite, we wanted some extra space. The room was indeed very spacious, extremely clean, very good bathroom. We appreciated that the water in the room was in glass bottles and amenities in the bathroom were carefully chosen, practically no plastic and compostable. The breakfast was quite pricey, but a big selection and everything was high quality. We had dinner there the first night, and it was really good (we had the hake) and not overpriced for the quality of the dish. One minus point about the bar/dining room, is that the lighting is too bright, even for breakfast. The sound level of the music was also on the loud side, although no complaints about the music itself. One time we ordered a pizza from room service and it wasn’t very good, certainly not up to the standards of the rest of the food we had. Staff was friendly and helpful, absolutely no complaints. The hotel has a very adequate gym. We would definitely stay there again.

My wife/I chose this hotel because we were looking for a good quality hotel, within easy walking distance of the town, and with parking. The Catalonia hotel fitted the bill. We paid extra for a sea view room, mainly to avoid noise from the traffic on the busy road on the other side. This worked, we avoided the traffic noise. But you would need good eyesight to see the sea in the distance. If you chose a sea-view room for the view you would be disappointed. The room was perfectly clean, with no problems of any sort. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The elevator + passage leading directly to the street was very useful. I only had one minor disappointment - the bar was completely lacking in atmosphere, it was brightly lit, with upright chairs around small dining tables. The rooftop bar looked much nicer, but was closed because of the rainy weather. So better to go out to one of the many bars outside. It was not cheap, but it met what we wanted at a fair price for an expensive city.
