2 / 5 I had a bad experience here unfortunately.
I had reservation from Booking, I noted the place I will arrive around 7 PM and they approve it.
When I arrived there was no one there. The door to the pension was locked and I was stuck outside. I don't speak Spanish and don't have a Spanish cellphone to make calls. I found to strangers that helped me. They call the place and was trying to help me get into my room. I must say that the women on the phone was nice, that's way I gave 2 stars and not 1.
They say that I supposed to get the information from Booking but I didn't get and they didn't do any effort to make sure I'll get in smoothly in.
Unfortunately, it didn't ends there.
I've got into the room. And instead of twin bed. There were 2 single beds. And the view to the street that supposed to be, wasn't like that at all! I added a video. I heard every flashing water from the toilet around and above my room through the window!
Also, the towel was smelling very badly.
I'm so sad for all of these situation. If I didn't met those 1 strangers in the beginning, I might stay outside all night.
For the place I want to say: Booking is not blame. It's your responsibility that your guest will know how to get into your place if you are not planning to be there to welcome them.
Good luck!
5 / 5 We had a lovely stay at this hotel and were especially impressed by the service. Paul was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout our visit — he really made us feel welcome and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. He also gave us many great recommendations for things to see and do in the area, which really enhanced our trip.
The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and had all the necessities for a comfortable stay. It’s clear that attention has been paid to the little details, which made a big difference.
The location was another highlight — just a 10-minute walk to the Old Town, with plenty of great pintxos bars and local spots to explore nearby. It made getting around and enjoying the city really easy.
The only minor downside was the WiFi in room 3, which was a bit spotty. However, Paul mentioned that this is something they are aware of and that improvements are on the way, which was reassuring.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider coming back. Highly recommend!
5 / 5 Very friendly host, they received a package we had sent from somewhere else, helped us store our bikes and luggage for the day. Rooms were totally fine, I recommend!
5 / 5 Stayed here in early July while walking the Camino de Santiago. The place is excellent. Clean, modern, good value overall. Paulo was a gracious and accommodating host and a woman at the front desk was very kind as well. Had we known we were staying an additional night we definitely would have booked it again! I highly recommend this establishment. Book ahead of time, it can fill up quickly, which is a good thing as they seem like genuine good people as well.
5 / 5 Paul (the owner) was the nicest! He was very talkative and welcoming from the very beginning, remembered our names and drew on the map the best restaurants and places to visit. He was very thoughtful and allowed us even to leave our stuff after check out so we can go for breakfast and take our last walk. The rooms were clean, they had everything you might need, and even a small gift — jelly beans! The bed was clean and comfortable. It had toilet paper and enough towels for 4 people. The location was close to bus station and the city center as well as the beach. If i’ll come back to San Sebastian I will definitely stay there and would advise to anyone who wants. Also for surfing check out Mundaka Barra Surf School, it’s close to San Sebastian(and better than surf school Bera Bera there)
