Pensión San Vicente

Great location and service. Sadly the rooms need a remodel. Water damage in the shower due to poor upkeep allowed for mold growth in caulk lines and under the floor. You can smell the mold when you get into the room. Otherwise clean rooms

WOW. The best place to stay in San Sebastián. Having been here before and stayed in hotels (like Catalonia Donosti) nothing rivals Pension San Vicente in its location, extremely warm and welcoming hosts, AIR CON! (A rare diamond among other air bnb and booking.com stays of similar price), cleanliness (bed making, bin emptying, bathroom cleaning, towel replacements etc) and practicality - my boyfriend and I were making heavy use of the fridge provided even in the 7m squared room with Lidl being a 2 min walk away. Notable close hotspots being La Concha and Zurriola both a 5 min walk away, the statue hike with secret bar, my fav pinxos bars of La Viña, Ganbarra, Urola - even the stroll to Monte Igeldo did not feel too far - and all right under your nose, you will not need maps to find anywhere. Having read other reviews the concerns of A) the size of the room (7m squared) B) external bathroom (private) C) stairs Were no inconvenience whatsoever. The room feels far bigger, has a large window with a terrace accessible from another door, a clothes rail and shelves, bedside cabinets, large mirror, fridge, TV, heater / ac, bedside lamps and more. No claustrophobic feelings or clutter. The bathroom had its own key, was about two steps down the corridor, was stocked with toiletries and practically felt like an en suite, did not run into a single neighbour the entire stay. You will want the stairs (3 ish flights?) to work up an appetite for the world’s best food in the world’s best city. Plus, with AC able to have on without the key you can pre-cool your room for arrival if wanted. The bed was very comfortable and I believe had a brand new mattress on it? With lots of throws and pillows. Opening the window to get a breeze of fresh air was also a bonus. I cannot recommend Pension San Vicente enough, it will definitely become the regular place to stay for my boyfriend and I in San Sebastián, and it should become yours too!

Mooie ligging. Appartement was goed, enkele aanmerkingen: wat schimmel in de douche, wat gammele elementen (slaapzetel kraakt enorm, zijleuningen ervan zitten los, slaapt ook nier super gemakkelijk met 2 personen samen in dat zetelbed, handvat wasmachine afgebroken,…). Alles wel goed geregeld met de sleutels. Prima verblijf voor korte periode.

Thank you so much for the trust you placed in us, even though we didn't know each other. It's a great place, and I highly recommend it. The hosts are wonderful.
