EDIT: downgraded my original review from 2 stars to 1 after the owners tacitly said in their reply that I must have caused the water leak (I didn't even have time to use any water taps during my night there), and started sending notifications via booking dot com to bill me extra for smoking in the room, which I did not do. Furthermore, I did respect their checkout time at 1100, and was in the process of leaving the room when they banged on the door at exactly that time, after getting maybe 3 hours' sleep, then I took about 7 or 8 further minutes to locate and inspect damage from the water leak to my belongings, leaving the room door wide open in the process and clearly explaining to them that this was what I was doing. ORIGINAL REVIEW (AS ALREADY WAS): A real mix of good and bad. Super friendly and helpful when I arrived but then there was a huge water leak throughout the building and what really bothered me was that even though I was the only guest who patiently tried to HELP them with that instead of complaining, they managed to a) complain at me that my wet bag (wet from their water leak) had left a stain on the bed and b) rudely bang on the door at their 1100 checkout time to kick me out, which they should have done politely after I'd had almost no sleep or shower (after wasting half my evening trying to help them). Some of my clothes were damaged by the water leak as the red colour of my bag stained them when it got wet. Instead of a refund, a very unfriendly departure. To be fair to them this was obviously a very unusual incident which must have been horribly stressful for them, but that's still no excuse whatsoever for treating a customer like that.

Such a joyous little place on the hill in the city centre of Santander. I left my lap top plug but everything else about my stay was fantastic. The bed was really comfortable and the room a perfect size. The lady was wonderful considering I arrived so late. Clean, comfortable and inexpensive I'll be back. The wee walk up the hill is for the fitter than average so don't book if you prefer the flat. It's worth it if you can!

We loved staying here! Really good location (plus there are escalators the next street over to help walk up the hills). Good price, lovely cleaning ladies. No air con though but we were fine with the fan provided

Room it's a bit tiny, but new equipped and functional. We'll located, but if you arrive by car, start to check possibles for parking already 1 km before you arrive!!!!

The room and location are quite good for the price but the access, not good. The room is clean and new, with a nice bathroom.
