Beautifully clean. Really comfortable and so quiet. Highly recommended. Good value for money and right on the Camino. Services not rated as there weren’t any running/open during our visit.

The “pensión” (hotel) has a good service, yet the restaurant (which is run by a rather unfriendly person) offers expensive food with bad quality. I did not ask but i had the feeling that the restaurant is not run by the pensión but by a different owner. The “pensión” owner gave me a voucher for breakfast, and the restaurant owner or manager refused to let me use it. It’s a shame because I had a great experience wrt the room and the location is great too.
We had a large, airy, clean room and en-suite bathroom, in which we were very comfortable for the five nights we stayed here. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the wine we had in the evenings. On one occasion, despite not being open for evening meals, they provided us with a plateful of cheese, chorizo, ham and bread with out wine, as well as the pinchos they serve with drinks. That was the most striking characteristic of the place: friendly, helpful and cheerful staff who made it a delight to be here. The pensión is perfectly placed for a visit to the great Monastery (a stopping point on the Camino) which is practically next door. We also found some delightful country walks, including to the local lake, to the dolmen de Forno dos Mouros, to some waterfalls in Brañas and to the remains of a Roman camp at Ciadella. All in all, it was a great place to stay and remarkable value for money.
