We've been several times and we're delighted. They're strategically located for exploring Asturias and Cantabria. The last time we had a minor issue, which they resolved quickly and very satisfactorily. Excellent value for money. Perfect for enjoying alone or with family. It's our go-to getaway.
The apartment is well-located for exploring Cantabria, but its condition was very disappointing. We picked up the keys and weren't even shown to the apartment. Inside, there were several dead flies in the living room and bathroom, the windows and blinds were filthy, and there was hair in the bathroom. The cleanliness left much to be desired. The mattresses were practically brand new; you could feel the springs digging into them, and the black sheets, after seeing the general cleaning, were appalling. In the kitchen, the coffee maker had mold in the water tank, and there wasn't even a toaster. And although every room had a radiator, when we turned them all on for the heating, the apartment (which was freezing) kept tripping the power.
The apartment was clean (a few cobwebs...) and fully equipped; sheets, towels, cutlery, dishes, etc. It had some minor defects, such as the door to the terrace, which was broken and unusable. Parking is right at the entrance to the complex. There are a few bars and restaurants that are decent for dinner, but the area itself isn't particularly interesting. The town itself doesn't have any attractions, so if you want to do anything, you'll have to visit the larger towns nearby.
We stayed in the summer and it was great, with good transport links for visiting Asturias and Cantabria. The apartments were quite good; the only issue was that one of ours, located in the central area where the terraces of the first floors open onto, was under construction, which caused some noise early in the morning, but that's to be expected. The reception staff were very good and everything was fine. There was a problem, but Carlos resolved it very quickly. I recommend it.
Great location for traveling between Cantabria and Asturias. Beach and mountains. Dogs are allowed in the apartments. Good value for money, clean apartments, well-maintained and pleasant. This is the second year we've gone to Unquera and stayed here, and it probably won't be the last. Friendly service.
