I stopped here as a pilgrim on the Camino. This hostal is clean and very reasonably priced. The room has a private bathroom. The building is right on the river and has a café with good drinks. The owners/workers were respectful. Thank you!
Perfect stop on the Camino of Santiago. Really nice owner, simple but cozy rooms, an authentic vintage feel. Highly recommended
Simple and clean hotel at a convenient location on the camino. I was happy with the private room, which was tidy and comfortable. The only downside was that lady at the reception was dismissive while I approached her with nothing but kindness (spoke with her in simple Spanish rather than English). She didn’t tell me about the check-out time (I soon noticed from a poster on the door it was 11:00), but then demanded for me to leave at 10:00 by knocking on the door and telling it’s time to leave without providing much clarification. I didn’t understand what she was saying, so I asked for a clarification and was met with annoyance. A little bit of kindness and willingness to facilitate a dialogue would’ve gone a long way. The was my only negative experience on the camino.
The hotel is ok for the price but we had ver bad experience with the staff. Not helpful or informative at all, the guy at the reception was kind of annoyed by our presence in general . He get angry at me bacause for breakfast I brought my own yoghurt. Breakfast is not included and it is Ridiculous, you can not e anything on the counter because he needs to give you (even the cereals!!) and you are charged for any single thing: cereals, pre packaged brioches or biscuits… well… I would not buy breakfast there and would not come back there for the bad vibes and the little empathy they have with peregrins
We stay two nights at the place, staff were fab, we had a room with a terrace overlooking the river and mountains, just a fantastic view. So good we decided to eat our meals there instead of eating out. Breakfast was also fab. Very close to bus and train stations. Unquera is a fab we place, did some walking around, was mostly on roadside but wasn't an overly busy road. Would recommend hotel and a stay in Unquera.
