Tower of Andrade

We went to stay at this Parador, but they placed us in the annex and not the actual tower which was the original Parador. The tower and rooms in the tower are amazing, see fotos below. However the rooms they placed us in were absolutely terrible at the annex. No curtains on the windows, paint on the ceiling in the bathroom peeling off. Disgusting. The cafeteria probably had 3 or 4 tables with sitting only for 3 at each table, no type of quality cakes to have with coffee, just a disaster. This Parador was rated at 4 stars, perhaps if you stay in the tower. If you stay in the Annex it's lucky to get two. I have been staying in Paradores for over 20 years and this by far is the worse! Bypass this Parador at all costs.

Nice viewing point

When we went to see it in the summer of 2025, it was being renovated. It was largely covered in scaffolding and not very visible. It's part of the Paradores Nacionales network, so I imagine the interior will be much changed and in excellent condition. From the outside, what little we could see was magnificent.
