5 / 5 My wife and I couldn't have chosen a better place for a getaway to Asturias with our greyhounds. The house was very cozy, with everything you needed for an incredible stay, and very nautical and comfortable decor. We were also surprised by the wonderful clean smell that's not so easy to find. It's just a 10-minute walk from a beach where our dogs had a great time. It's perfectly located, right on the Camino de Santiago route, for anyone who wants to explore the area, and just 5 minutes from the A8 motorway to head out by car and continue enjoying everything Asturias has to offer. A 10 to Conchi and her son for the hospitality they provided.
2 / 5 Disappointing. The photographs make it look larger than it is, both the house and the exterior. The kitchenware is insufficient for the occupancy allowed in the home. The same applies to the dining room. Not only is there a lack of space, but there aren't even enough chairs for all occupants to sit at the table. If the home is for a maximum of 10 people, it can't have 8 dining chairs, 8 cups, or 8 glasses. The outdoor garden, in our case, wasn't relevant because the weather wasn't good, but if it hadn't been, we wouldn't have been able to use it as we thought, since it's not suitable for all the occupants of the home. In reality, it's a garden for 4-5 people at most. It's also far from resembling the one in the photographs, which are misleading regarding its state of conservation, as it's quite neglected. The furniture in general is old and poorly maintained. Drawers and doors of several pieces of furniture and closets couldn't be opened or closed. I understand that because they're made of wood and there's a certain amount of humidity in the apartment, several bedroom doors didn't lock either. The bed frames were very noisy, and since these are rooms where several people sleep, this made it difficult to rest.
The apartment generally smelled of a mixture of damp and musty. We asked about the heating since it was 15 degrees outside when we arrived, but the person who greeted us told us that since it was June, it wasn't on. We were cold, and I'm afraid that even if the heating had been on, we would have been cold, since the number of radiators is minimal for the size of the house. The most unpleasant thing was the general filth of the floor, especially the downstairs bathroom floor. The accumulated dirt can't be removed with a simple mop. Part of the apartment's flooring has been replaced with parquet. Standing barefoot in one of these rooms, my feet turned completely black in minutes. It felt like perhaps because the flooring was parquet, it wasn't mopped. Seeing this and wiping it with my hand, I noticed a layer of dirt that had accumulated over time. They didn't return our €150 deposit. A tray in the refrigerator that we removed to put a watermelon in it broke, and when we placed it on the table next to it, it turned out one of the table legs was broken and wobbly. When we moved it, the tray slipped out the back. We understand that this may entail an additional cost, but charging the full deposit seems excessive. The day we were leaving, we thought we could check out later. We hadn't checked the check-out time, which was undoubtedly our mistake. However, when we asked the person in charge, she told us we could stay an extra hour. To our surprise, this extra hour also served as a justification for not returning any of our deposit.
5 / 5 Naves is a friendly and welcoming little town that we've known for a long time, and we continue to stay there in different accommodations. Everything is very close to enjoy the best corners of Asturias. This year, 7 of us stayed here and 1 🐕 for the December long weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised by Casa Dolphin. It's spectacular, with every detail missing, it's beautiful, and very comfortable.
The owner, Conchi, lives next door and is always there to help you with whatever you need to make your stay more enjoyable.
Thank you very much, Conchi. We'll be back.
4 / 5 A house with a nautical touch down to the last detail, a host attentive to everything, and a typical Asturian village with its tranquility. If I have to highlight anything, it's the mattress. I've rarely, if ever, slept so well in a hotel. Close to Gulpiyuri Beach. I'd definitely come back and, above all, recommend it.
2 / 5 For those looking for reviews of this house, the response to this comment gives you a taste of how the owner will treat you. Good luck to those who decide to go.
This house is well located, clean, and comfortable. It's attached to the owners' house. The treatment of the owner is a shame, as we stayed for four days, and the day before we arrived, she told us there was no hot water but that she would fix it the day we arrived, which never happened. Throughout our stay, we had to shower with cold water. Despite having offered to compensate us in some way, she refused. Furthermore, on the last night, we had to endure verbal threats from her drunken son, who had a party in the garage located inside the rental house until 4 a.m. We expected an apology from her, but there was none. Personally, I do not recommend Casa Dolfin.
