Clean comfortable rooms. The man at the front desk is soft spoken, kind, and very helpful. This municipal pilgrim's albergue is well heated (was there in March) which is a big plus after 7 consecutive days of walking in the rain. The kitchen has a kettle and a microwave only, but plenty of cutlery. There is also a vending machine with a few full meal options like paella. There is a wash basin in the parking lot (free), but there is also a washing machine and a dryer (did not check price). *Note: the entrance is at the back on the lower level.
The place itself is cute and warm. It has everything you need. But I was bitten there by bed bugs, and I know many pilgrims had the same experience, so it was no other insect as they answered me after I confronted them with the fact. So just be carefull.
Private hostel not municipal, booking highly recommend. 17 beds with only 6 set aside for walk ins. Open 13:00-22:00. Call within opening hours the day before to reserve. Cost €10. The owner also owns a place with private rooms, which pilgrims without a reservation are redirected to and a much higher price. Very nice hostel with good facilities. Blankets and free coffee in the morning.
Incredibly busy, but very well managed. Seemed noisier than average at night, but thems the breaks! Don’t risk just turning up - there are very few ‘walk-in’ beds available. Nice restaurants nearby.
How ironic how much space the few cars outside have in the huge unused car park, but the pilgrims are crammed in like sardines in a tin. Although the place is clean and the staff super friendly, PLEASE rebuild the upper part of the house to make some smaller rooms and give the pilgrims some SPACE! It was a very uncomfortable experience to be so close to everyone.
