The people who work there are very 'serious'. Not the most positive vibe I have seen in auberge. But the stamp they have is very preety
The Staff was wonderful and very helpful. We shipped our bag ahead, but then were unable to make it that far. They took care of our bags and allowed us to move the reservation to the following day. Also our dinner there was the best meal we have had on our whole trip (not just on the Camino). It was cooked to perfection. Juicy pork chops and baby squid. I would highly recommend staying here. It is also right next to the trail and very close to town and a grocery store .
The man on the reception was walking confusion. We did reservation two days before and when we arrived, he told us, that it is not possible, so we had to wait if all other people will come for their reservation. Some people did not. So the man gave us beds and somehow he gave the same bed i had to someone else before, so i had to sleep on bed with my friend. The man reluctantly gave us money for one bed back (luckily). I definitely do not recommend this albergue.
The most wonderful women work here. Raquel and Lorena welcomed us to the Auberge, poured us some very generous drinks and did their utmost to help us book our next accommodation. When they couldn't help they taught us some very choice phrases to describe the very difficult man on the phone. This may not be the most luxurious Albergue but by God will they make you feel welcome and make sure you have a good time and isn't that what hospitality is all about?
High prices, low quality. Now they charge 20 euros - more than almost any other albergue on the Camino. They insist on being paid in cash - government take notice. But they have nothing to show for it - standard room with 20 beds, no kitchen, not even breakfast included. Miserable dinner of three fried eggs and french fries for 12 euro. Obviously a tourist price. Laundry is expensive and the machine eats your money without return. Staff are not nice and not helpful. The only other albergue in town open now has even bigger problems - read the reviews very carefully! So probably best to skip this town altogether.
