Hotel Duarte (2 ESTRELLAS)

Right along the Camino de Santiago. Great view from rooms on the third floor (second in Spanish), facing the estuary. Staff were very helpful, willing to lend adapters when my friend’s broke down. The breakfast included with our stay (c/o Portugal Green Walks) was very decent, particularly the bread which appeared to be freshly baked(?) from their kitchen ovens. Their yogurt was also pretty good.

You’ll learn if a hotel stamps your Camino passport for you, it will be a good stay. If they point to the stamp for you to stamp, not hospitable. By far the least hospitable place we stayed while on the Camino. The women at the front desk hardly said a word (my travel partner speaks Spanish fluently so it wasn’t a language issue). The location is good and room clean, so that helped the rude welcome. Breakfast is the bare minimum.

This official two star hotel gets a Five Star rating. The staff is friend and check-in was fast and efficient. Rooms are well kept and super clean. Good sized room for value. Great views of the Arcadia Port from our balcony window on the second floor too. Super option for Camino pilgrims or visitors. Walking distance to super market, laundry m, food options, and more.

The hotel is basic but clean. Check in was efficient. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. I mistakenly left my spiky massage ball in the room although I didn't realise it was missing. The staff investigated and attached it to my bag which was being transferred to the next hotel. Thank you so much!!

I stayed one night on way to Comino, great location , Maria at reception was very courteous, polite and considerate! I only had a rain coat and it was pouring rain , she gave me a Poncho to cover myself during my walk , she wouldn’t accept any payment for that !! Thanks so much Maria for your kind gesture!! Food was very good , comfortable and clean rooms !!! Thank You ! Would highly recommend it 🤗
