This is an excellent hotel. I had stayed her for four nights from Oct 29th, 2025. The staff members are polite and the breakfast is good.
There are very few hotels in Barcelos. So we blindly booked the Lux'otel for four nights. It had the word “lux” in its name, so we expected luxury. What a mistake. Room - very clean and modern. But it lacked everything. No luggage rack; the suitcase had to lie on the floor, very uncomfortable for guests with back problems. Only one chair for two guests, a tiny table. Only a minimal shelf in the small bathroom to put your toothbrush and cosmetics on. The room is actually spacious, but the amenities are lacking. Our booking was for a "De-luxe" room with whirlpool. It was simply a bathtub in the middle of the room that could produce bubbles. There was only room in it for one person. Service - the young woman at the reception was apparently also responsible for housekeeping and breakfast. Totally overworked! We were only able to move into our room at 3.45pm, carrying our luggage by ourselves. Otherwise very taciturn staff who don't really seem to enjoy their work. Breakfast - the absolute minimum standard. Industrial bread, cheap ham and plastic cheese, three jams. Poor coffee from the vending machine, no black tea. The fruit always consisted of watermelon and oranges that looked as if they had spent the night on the buffet. Better to go to the nearest bakery for breakfast. Surroundings - pleasantly close to the city center, about 600 meters to the central square. Only once did we manage to get a parking space near the hotel, otherwise it was a long walk between the car and the hotel. The hotel's own parking lot costs 15 euros per night. All in all, more marketing than reality. Hardly recommendable.
Nice and Clean. Great room, and good staff. They allowed me to check in early. Breakfast is good.
Spectacular room, clean, great sleep, very comfortable. The staff was fantastic. We've been back and it's still amazing. The girl who helped us was excellent. We'll be back.
