Dpaso, Urban Hostel

This was our experience. Hopefully yours will be better. Things to consider before you book (we booked a private double room): UN-STAFFED FRONT DESK AND LUGGAGE STORAGE Front desk is not covered at all times. Neither is their phone. We were told that a person will be at the front desk by the check out time, which is 11am. There was nobody from 11am until 11.40am. We were trying to get hold of someone by calling multiple times from 11am to 11.40am, unsuccesfully. That delayed the start of our day. There is no secure separate room to leave the luggage other than the shared kitchen area, which is also where the front desk is. It is possible to leave the luggage there, but I highly doubt that the area is supervised at all times. On the other hand, all our luggage was there when we returned. Nowhere it is indicated that there is not a person at least during the day time. Our morning/ check out process was very frustrating, because we didnt know if a person is coming and when. If you dont need to leave the luggage, or dont need to talk to anyone in the morning, you will be fine. KITCHEN AREA No full kitchen, only kitchenette. No option to cook. There is cattle for hot water, microwave, small electric oven, plates, cups, bowls, cuttlery. If the guesthouse is full, there is not enough cups for all people to use. What is also missing in the kitchen is mitten to use when taking out hot tray out of oven, paper towels to dry stuff with or your hands, cutting boards, cutting knives and place to put wet dishes. ROOM Room is on the ground floor/ street and road level. You will have no view, but the room is quiet/ good sound proofing. We didnt hear any cars with closed window. I was little cold in the room in the night time unless I was under the duvet - the heating system of AC didnt warm up the room. This was in January. Room was is rather small, but clean, bed was very comfortable and duvet is thick enough to keep you warm if you are under it. Room has a fridge and enough storage space. They only gave us 1 keycard for 2 people, even though we asked for 2. LOCATION Location is a very short walk from the train station and old town. NICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF The staff is nice and friendly - if they happen to show up to work ;) Normally I would take off more stars for the check out experience. However because of the friendliness of the staff, I decided that I dont want to ruin your score. However, please indicate what times there is a person at the front desk and make sure someone is there for your guests. Or that someone is at least reachable on the phone within the day hours.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I got a lot of bed bug bites from staying in this hostel so I'm very unhappy.

The hostel seemed nice at first. Pretty cramped hostel and no comfy places to sit after hours of walking. The shower was also cold. Main thing is BED BUGS! I got into my bed and about an hour after found a huge bug in my bed which had bitten me. I changed bed and did not get bitten again. However, in the morning I messaged to host to let him know and ask for compensation, he responded it was not his fault and that they clean the rooms daily. I then asked for them to cover the cost of the wash I had to do. Which he also refused saying that I ‘just wanted the money’ Would absolutely not stay here again and am disappointed with the disrespect and lack of support from the ‘host’.

I have read so many positives reviews on this place. Absolutely lovely hostel, great location, friendly staff. Kitchen and shower area are super clean, plus their beds and pillows are sealed. Everything was perfect until I woke up with tons of BITES around my arms and neck, found 2 BEDBUGS crawling on my curtains and bed before leaving the place… Long story short , I told them about the bedbugs that exact day but instead I still got blame for not telling them asap despite knowing I was catching a flight. They didn’t took responsibility and blamed it on the other guests..

Great hostel, one of the best on the Camino! Nice beds with curtains, personal chargers and lights on the beds. Great heating/ventilation system! Air is fresh and of good temperature. Nice staff, good showers.
