Dpaso, Urban Hostel

I almost never write reviews, and I think I never wrote a 1 star one, because I know it has an impact on businesses and I don’t want any harm to them but this is an exception. I booked, made the mistake at the payment in the forest during my Camino - but maybe it is fate - and later on I got told from other peregrinos to really check this place, so I did and when I saw bedbugs 3 weeks ago, it was an immediate no for me. I made the mistake not cancelling it right away, I admit it. When they reached out I told them that sorry, I found a different one, but I’ll file for a refund. So I did, but the owner? on WhatsApp wasn’t flexible. I understand that it was a non-refundable booking. I do. But as a business I think you need to think about the future of your business, not the 20€ you have for a bed. To be honest, I wouldn’t write this if they would be flexible on this. And it is not about the money. It’s about the approach. For every business, if you treat customers, clients like this, I think it’s not good for you. So here it is. I know they will have their part of this story, and it’s ok. All I want to say is that there are many more options in Pontevedra and I’m so glad that I found one where they treat you like a customer. Worst bed bug infestation I’ve ever seen in Europe. I’ve traveled to Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Basque Country. This is the first time I’ve been covered in itchy bites, I saw at least five bed bugs, they were on my pillow too. There was also a homeless woman who slept in a nearby bunk and the whole dorm area smelled like a homeless camp. Walking into the entrance, there’s a very foul smell, that they covered with baby powder scent. Please stay away, listen to the other reviews from a month ago talking about the bed bugs. I wish I did.

I'm in Dpasio Urban in Pontevedra and it's a terrible experience. €19 for a bed and no atmosphere. No meals, €8 to wash your clothes. It's not only for pilgrim's so security is a real issue. I have experienced a private room, with a pilgrim's meal, in a secure environment for €30. This just seems like money grabbing.

Bed bugs on both mine and my husband beds! Avoid this place. The owner refused the admit the bed bugs issue and also refused to refund the stay. Very rude. They also allow homeless people stay at the place and claimed they are pilgrims. What a joke.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. I called ahead and was told there was a vacancy, and I confirmed that I would arrive shortly. However, by the time I got there, my spot had been given to someone else because the staff failed to communicate my reservation internally. No effort was made to resolve the situation, which caused unnecessary stress and wasted my time. This level of disorganization and lack of customer care is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone relying on a confirmed booking.
