Galicia Palace

We booked a 3-night stay at the Galicia Palace Hotel in July 2024. The staff were friendly and spoke English. Our room was spacious and clean. The location was excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk from the center and right next to the shopping street. Everything was accessible by foot. We arrived by car and used the hotel's parking, which cost €16 per night, as we couldn't find suitable parking elsewhere. We didn't try the food. We needed a suit ironed, and the service was pricey. The room didn’t have a noteworthy view.

Galicia Palace is a clean and safe hotel in a very convenient location in Pontevedra. Our room, however, was just adequate. While the beds were comfortable, the AC sounded like a washing machine on perpetual spin cycle. Ventilation in the bathroom was lacking so it smelled musty much of the time. And the decor throughout the hotel was very dreary and dated. We expected more from a 4 star hotel. We would stay again because of the positives, but only if we got a lower room rate. It was not worth €123 per night (incl. taxes and charges).

Impeccable room. Perfect room service, very clean and very comfortable. Perfect location. The only drawback: the breakfast needs improvement, more variety would be good, better quality and more fresh products (for example freshly squeezed tomatoes instead of canned, or home made jam instead of canned... etc)

Great place. Clean. Can’t get coffee in the morning in the hotel without buying the breakfast. Had to go outside the hotel for coffee. Only drawback.

This is not a four star hotel. After 26 nights in Spain, this was at the bottom. If you only want coffee without a meal, you have to walk two blocks for coffee or wait until 9 am. No hot kettle, but this was mostly the norm for hotels.
