Parador de Pontevedra

I loved staying here! The building itself was magical, so beautiful and majestically historical 😍 the staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I have only positive things to say, maybe except a warning for light sleepers: the wooden floors can be noisy when someone walks on them, so bring earplugs.

Well located parador that allows you to walk throughout the old part of Pontevedra, and to the train station if you like longer walks. The staff are very nice and accommodated our requests with enthusiasm. The restaurant food is nice too. We had breakfast and dinner there. The dinner was very good while we found the breakfast to be ok.

First time I felt disappointed by the service at a Parador. And not just me: while being there I witnessed 3 other tables at the garden cafeteria just get up and leave because of the lack of service. Shame, since the restaurant is great, the beds super comfortable and the place itself very, very nice. Also the restaurant staff was very professional and friendly, just not the guy of the cafeteria (plane rude to some guests).

Staying at a remodeled 16th century palace by the heart of a medieval town. What beats that? The place exudes old world charm, the setting, gardens, furniture and art. Super attentive service from the moment you arrive. Immaculate clean rooms and comfortable bedding and towels. The restaurant is top notch. The property doesn't have parking but you can reach it with your car, they give you all the time you need to unload your luggage and there is a convenient parking five minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
