The service at the restaurant was unfriendly and dismissive. They were friendly with Portuguese locals. The chips were a mix of re-fried and once fried chips which was suspicious. The room is fine - a standard bunk in an Albergue; clean with good facilities.
The lady who runs this albergue is a saint. Its the 1st of January and have just got here from a long ride on the bicycle from Lisbon doing the camino de santaigo, all the places to eat are closed. The kind lady gave me a plate of food which was needed more than you can imagine. I was so hungry! Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness! My prayers are with you. 5 Stars. 🙏
This review is only for the cafe/restaraunt. Nice location off of the Camino and a nice sunny interior, very affordable as well. Unfortunately the service was abysmal. I was left standing at the counter ready to order for about 10 minutes while every single staff member in the building walked past me multiple times. When I was finally helped they forgot an item I had ordered, and when I went up to mention (using Google translate, to ensure I couldn't be misunderstood) they tried to charge me for the item a second time and still didn't deliver it. After waiting 40 minutes I just asked for my money back. A shame because I feel like this place could be excellent, the staff just seemed too stressed out/apathetic to deal with anything. Good for a cheap sandwich, bad if you want it quickly.
Cozy hostel right on the Camino. The staff was very friendly and the hostel is clean. We had dinner and drinks at their restaurant which was tasty and cheap! Can highly recommend!
Excellent stop after a long day of walking! Everything seems very new. The attached restaurant is popular with pilgrims, travelers, and locals. The food is delicious. There are many areas to sit and relax. (I especially liked how the owner greeted us with a smile, and wished us a good night as my wife and I played cards by the drying line.)
