Women beware! The owner can’t keep his hands to himself. My female young partner was upset. I had a massage and he went beyond limits without permission. sexual assault????The owner is manipulative and finds ways to overcharge (not enabling one glass of wine and forcing a bottle). The meal was cheap poor people food and wine cheap while toted as high quality. As an African specialist, I am convinced he was involved in the violence in Luanda, Angola in 1975 with Cubans. Overall creepy in a beautiful setting! Oh yes he tries to sell the place to you when you arrive. In financial trouble??????

The place was lovely but I felt very ripped off by a 40 euro laundry bill for a pile of hiking clothes that will go in the garbage after the Camino. There was nothing on the information sheet in the room about the cost, nor did Fernando the host explain when offering to do my laundry. I was explicit about nothing special, throw it all in the washer/dryer together which he agreed with. But with the 40 euro bill he said each piece was done individually with a separate cost for each. My bad for not asking but I would have been ok with anything reasonable (I did the same in Lisbon for 6 euro). Expensive lesson!

I stayed here in May 2019 while walking the camino. It was not a good experience. Spoke very rude - telling me to close the windows as it lets flys in; gave me the wrong room; and told me to turn off all my lights. It got worse when the owner decided to discuss American politics while having dinner. It was truly an unpleasant experience.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while walking the Camino. It was easy to find as there is signage leading you from the Camino to the Casa. We were greeted by Zezinha and shown to the guest house which is very beautiful! The lower level is a shared area with some seating and a fridge stocked with refreshments and light snacks (not included in price but all very reasonably priced). The upper level has the 3 guest rooms. Our room was very clean and comfortable and it's obvious that great love and pride has been put into the rooms. The Casa is not close to any restaurants by foot but Zezinha offered to drive us to a nearby restaurant or have dinner with them at the Casa. I would recommend having dinner at the Casa. It's a shared dining experience with the other guests staying at the guest house. The meal is prepared by Zezinha and her husband, Fernando, hosts the dinner. Refreshments are not included with the meal but you can choose what you'd like the drink. Fernando had a selection of wines that ranged in price from 9 euros/bottle up. It was a lovely meal with great conversation. I will be honest in that I was a bit nervous booking here because of some of the reviews that I read on Google/TripAdvisor. I just wanted to say that I feel those reviews do not represent the actual experience of staying here. The guesthouse is beautiful and it's obvious that Zezinha and Fernando take great pride in it and sometimes that means that you have to remind people to take their shoes off before going inside as it's not always cultural norm to remove footwear prior to entering a household. I would stay here again and I'd recommend others to stay here as well.

The place is quiet, ideal for resting. Its owner is friendly and attentive. The rooms and common room are clean. So far so good. The bathroom is shared between the 3 rooms. I give 3 stars because, at times, it feels more like someone is inviting you to their home and not to stay in a hotel: you have to be very careful with cleanliness and the owner seemed to care that we checked out at 10 a.m. and not before. The dinner was good but it was the most expensive we paid on the Camino de Santiago (€20) and also the only one that did not include drinks.
