You have to stay here when in town. One night is not enough. This place is like heaven. Location amazing. Building is an old castle that's been converted. Decor is delightful. Breakfast selection is fabulous. And the service from the moment you enter, to being escorted to your room, and the breakfast service was the best we've encountered so far. The bottom line is: You have to stay here" Our only regret is we only stayed one night.

We had a wonderful stay here in Santarem and Sergio was a great and knowledgeable local host. The room and house had lots of character and charm but all of the modern amenities you would expect. Breakfast was excellent in the morning. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Deserves every one of the 5 stars. Beautifully restored manor house within Roman walls. Well secluded and tranquil even though in the old town. Top class period decor. Huge comfortable beds with quality linen. Breakfasts fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for the caring owners and friendly staff. Dinner is also offered. The only way to know how good this is, is to experience it for yourself!

Actually five star plus! Great hosts at an amazing location in the old Roman fort overlooking the river valley. Lovely pool to assist in winding down after the trip.

Very restful night spent in room with period furnishings and panoramic views to Santarem below and the Tejo River. Excellent breakfast with the best orange juice I’ve ever had.
