An Inviting Hilltop Retreat That Truly Delivers – A Five-Star Experience From the moment we arrived until our departure, Santarém Hotel exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. With its tranquil location, welcoming staff, and well-thought-out amenities, this hotel provided an ideal balance of comfort, value, and atmosphere. Here’s why I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Location – Peaceful and Scenic Situated on a breezy hilltop, the hotel offers lovely panoramic views of the surrounding area. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Free parking just outside the hotel is a great convenience, especially for those arriving by car. Room – Romantic Touches and Comfort Combined We stayed in room 607 on the top floor, which offered a splendid view of the pool area. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. I had pre-booked the “Romantic Setup in Room” (€60), and it turned out to be an excellent choice — the room was beautifully decorated with sparkling wine and delightful treats upon arrival (see my photos). The bed was impressively wide (2 meters!) and provided excellent sleep quality. While the bathroom was a bit dated and showed signs of wear, it was still functional for our needs. Service – Friendly and Professional From check-in to check-out, we were greeted with genuine smiles and attentive service. The staff handled all my pre-arrival inquiries with speed and professionalism, which set a positive tone even before our stay began. Facilities – Pools with a View The hotel features both an outdoor and indoor pool, with the outdoor one offering a fantastic view over the landscape. A lovely way to unwind after a day of exploring. Atmosphere – Relaxed and Welcoming The entire environment of the hotel felt calm and inviting. The kindness and warmth of the staff played a big role in making the atmosphere so pleasant. Breakfast – Exceeded Expectations The breakfast buffet was well above average for this category of hotel. It featured a generous spread of hot and cold dishes, all elegantly presented. The setting was peaceful — a truly pleasant way to begin the day. Wifi – Fast and Reliable The complimentary wifi worked flawlessly throughout the hotel, including in our room. Fast and dependable – just the way it should be. Value for Money – Excellent Return For the price we paid, the overall quality and experience far exceeded our expectations. Positive aspects: The breakfast was excellent, with a good variety to start the day off right. Areas for improvement: However, the reception staff could have been more welcoming and attentive to guests. Additionally, while the room was comfortable, it felt a bit outdated and did not quite match the €100 price point. There are other hotels in the Santarém area, such as the Hotel Umu, which offers a more modern experience at better prices.
Hotel is good and beautiful. Reception staff is cooperative and professional. The hotel is bit costly but its value of you money. Rooms are clean and and well managed.
It has magnificent view from window. Has a great lobby where you can chill for quite some time. When we visit, the gym is flooding with water from the pool. I hope they have fixed it already.
