Lovely place. Easy to get in, breakfast included! Rooms are a tiny bit small, but functional. Room heading is great and appreciated. Annabelle is a sweetheart.

A nice new hotel and I wish the owners the best of luck. Rooms were clean, nice size rooms and comfortable beds. But, no kettle or glasses in room. There is no access to make hot drinks after breakfast as kitchen is looked shut. This is "due to previous guests leaving a mess." Hotel is a 5 min walk from old town and close to all transport. More variety at breakfast would also be nice. Same options for 4 days.

Very good location. Very smooth self checkin, and communicative host. We had a great stay. The room is very nicely decorated. There is a lounge where you can sit and relax. The breakfast was great. Annabelle even gave us some snacks for the day. Thank you!!

Annabelle is an outstanding and lovely host! She was fully dedicated to us and very attentive. We have experienced a wonderful stay at Tomar thanks to her.

Timeless grace above a working railway station. We recognised the accommodation from the picture but hadn’t really appreciated we would be staying above the working station until we arrived. There is a large parking lot behind the building, so parking was easy. After entering the access code, the stairway entrance and reception area gave the appearance of a grand old hotel. There are only a few rooms upstairs and our room provided views across one of the main squares, a wartime memorial and the castle in the sky. Thomar House really provides a feeling of grandeur. We took a stroll after settling in and as we arrived at a closing café, the waiter suggested we try a local chicken specialist restaurant (Casa dos Frangos). We had a lovely meal in what seems like a very popular, genuine and local restaurant. Thanks go out to two Canadian ex-pats that helped us and the waitress execute our orders. We had a great chat with them as well and they told us how they love the place and have become regulars. In the morning, Annabelle had laid out our breakfast which was small, simple and perfect for us. We spent most of the morning exploring the town and castle both of which we would highly recommend. Thomar is a very attractive town and Thomar House was a perfect overnight for us.
