This was our first meal and best meal in Spain! We continued to talk about it throughout our Camino. It was filling, nutritious, and balanced -- unlike almost everywhere else we would land. The staff were friendly, and the pilgrim-friendly gear and supplies in the shop were all good choices. Because it was our day 1, we didn't know how badly we'd want them! We had stayed across the bridge in Portugal, but definitely should have stayed in Tui here.
Very pleasant place for coffee, breakfast or a snack! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the kind baristas/ service people :) they helped when I asked for the next bus/train stop and explained it very kindly. Next time I am in Tui, I will stay a night :)
IN CRE I BLE!!! Wow! Qué hermoso lugar! I absolutely loved this place. I was going to keep walking further that day but I saw so many good reviews that I thought I would stop by and have a look. I decided to stay and very glad I did. Jose and the ladies are so warm and hospitable! The place is spot on clean, comfy and beautiful! The café downstairs serves yummy coffee and there is just so many nice areas to hang out, read a book, or just relax. Well equiped kitchen and comfortable beds with sheets and nice dunnos. It felt like a really nice treat to have in the middle of the pilgrimage :) 10/10 It is a fair price as well, not lot more a expensive than the public albergues. Beautiful family own business. I was hoping to get a bit of rain so I could justify staying another night 😅 Muchas gracias chicos! 🙏🏻
The albergue is great overall. The reason for the 1-star is that because of a lack of clear communication with the staff our room was changed after we got in and we then got locked out of it (digital wifi locks) when coming out of the shower in the shared bathroom. Basically my friend spent half an hour in a towel getting cold while i was unware of the situation at the grocery store. She was unable to get to the reception (you have to go outside in the street) and nobody answered her on the whatsapp emergency number. The annoying part was that this was avoidable because the manager admitted the next day that she had seen the whatsapp message asking for help and did not even reply to make sure it was resolved. No compensation of any nature was offered either. Otherwise great albergue except for the digital door locks - they are the worst 'technology' i've ever experienced.
After a few rainy days this was a welcome hub of warmth, light and great service. Had a beer and a wine with my dog Lady, whilst catching up online with the free WiFi. Actually travelling in a camper, which is parked down the hill from here, but share the sentiments of this being an incredibly welcoming, generous and vibrant space. Will be back for a coffee and croissant with my laptop tomorrow morning 👍👍👍
