Me and my girlfriend arrived smiling in this place but didn't even get a hello back when we entered ..wow... Cause we are walking the camino backwards she didn't want to let us check-in incase it will be full booked by people which go normal way ( there was no one so war and now 7.30 still no one ) Never went to an so unfriendly reception. Now we are reading the comments of this place, laughing and regretting to stay here ... we even had to ask for bed sheets
The albergue itself is good. There is a lot of space between beds. However, there was a very loud party outside. In the street of this albergue, there were people shouting until 6 AM continuously, and a heavy bass, from a dance club or something. It could be that this was only there in my night, but better to ask at check-in if they know if there will be a big party the whole night.
1. Got bedbugs here 26/10/24 2. the hospitalera was incredibly unpleasant, she even yelled at me for saying “obrigada” instead of “gracias” (poor her 😂). the problem is not the absence of sheets, or the kitchen without utensils, which are normal in albergues in Galizia. The “kitchen” was closed because the Hospitalera claimed that the rain comes in, so no hot water from microowave and no place to eat (you cant eat inside the albergue). 3. even if we asked the girl THREE TIMES to turn on the heating, she didn’t until 8 pm. when i asked her last time, she Was surprised and asked me if I was cold. We were freezing, 7* outside. 4. Just one toilet for women open (the others, one in the same bathroom and other One at the first floor) with doors locked. She doesn’t like cleaning probably? I wonder if the Xunta employ on purpose just unkind and disagreeable hospitaleros in the albergues.
Only plus is location. Receptionist obviously doesn't want to be there - that's ok but then a kitchen with NOTHING in it. No pans no cooker no toaster no cups, cutlery or even a kettle (I had my own tea bags!) beds ok but no cover sheets given. Building is nice and a few little extras would greatly improve reviews. Simple stuff blatantly lacking!! And response from owner says it all. I am in a hostel now in Arcade at €12 euros with all utensils a lovely host, full bedding and full kitchen equipment. AVOID THIS PLACE!!
Probably the worst municipal Albergue we have stayed at, and we have stayed at them at every town. Although at a glance it seemed fine, and the beds seem nice. However, the Albergue DID NOT provide disposable linens. People were sleeping on the bare plastic mattress and pillow. So would not recommend in terms of sanitation. The Albergue said it provided a kitchen, but although it has sinks and a hob, it does not have anything else. No plates, cups, cutlery, pots pans or kettle, so nobody can use it unless you have camping equipment. Shower is open plan, no curtain so you are showering with no privacy between other showerers or people using sinks Come prepared with sleeping bag, pillow and kitchenware, otherwise would not recommend.
