1 / 5 ⚠️ Be careful
I rarely leave reviews, but I am writing this because I don’t want other Camino pilgrims to go through the same experience. 🙏
Before going to sleep, I discovered several bedbugs crawling on the bed and pillow. The owner moved me to another room, but there were bedbugs there as well. In the end, I had no choice but to keep the lights on all night to avoid being bitten, and I barely slept. I’ve already got multiple bites on my body.
When I told him the next morning, he gave me contradictory excuses such as, “I’ve never had bedbugs before, so it must be another insect” and “This is nature, so of course there are bugs.” Finally, he even suggested that I might have brought them myself, saying “I think maybe you brought them.” If it were just mosquitoes or ants, I wouldn’t complain—but this is an entirely different issue.
On top of that, the rooms and common areas were dirty, not well maintained, and poorly organized, which triggered my dust allergy.
For Camino pilgrims, having a safe and restful place to stay is extremely important. Unfortunately, this albergue did not provide that at all.
5 / 5 After walking in 104 degree heat and approaching a full hostel, I was out of places to stay. I called Nuno and even though he was off the property he opened the gate welcomed me in. The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious. The bed was comfortable as well. The highlight of my day was breakfast and coffee with Nuno in the morning. All offered at a very fair price for a pilgrim! Perfect place to stay on your Camino.
5 / 5 I stayed in this beautiful space last summer after injuring myself on the Camino. The owner made sure we were all enjoyed a pilgrim’s dinner, helped me get supplies for my injury and played beautifully the Portugues guitar. The shower was hot & the water pressure magnificent (a treat for the Camino). The horse and puppies were also very sweet. True spirit of Camino, I’m so grateful for Nuno’s kindness
