Hotel Lara

I recently stayed at what can only be described as a hotel past its prime—and by prime, I mean it feels like it’s been on a downward slope for decades. The building itself is an eyesore, with a faded, peeling exterior that suggests it’s seen better days (or maybe it never had any to begin with).The rooms were worse. The outdated decor that looks like it was last updated in the 1980s (and not in a good way). The smell inside the room was unbearable—a mix of stale smoke and cleaning chemicals...

Very great receptionists and staff. However, you can hear everything other patrons do through the walls of the rooms (doors opening, showering, coughing- everything) which makes the experience unpleasant and not restful. Rooms smell of chemicals, hotel is old and dark. Main issue is lack of rest from being able to hear everything outside of your room.

Very friendly receptionist, the beds are very firm but extremely comfortable. The hotel is clean, but there is a very chemical smell inside the room that's irritating for airways. The light inside the lightingswitches are excellent, you don't have to light up the room during the night for bathroom. The breakfast was not bad but to much work for just one person. No coffecups, no refills. malfunctioning coffee machine The only thing that was not ok was the noisines from other rooms.

The hotel is decent enough, situated in a very privileged location. However, it could benefit from some upgrades in materials and infrastructure. The best thing about this place is its location, right in front of the fortress, and the breakfast offered. The infrastructure could be improved; it feels a bit cheap, to be honest. Nevertheless, I still had a good time, and the lady at the counter was super nice. One thing they could add is a laundry service, which would be a definite improvement. So, overall, this place is good for a quick sleep and go.

I stayed for 1 night while on a bike packing trip. They have a bike storage room which they keep locked and has plenty of room for multiple bikes. My room was large, clean and quiet. Hotel is well run and the Staff were very helpful. Definitely recommend.
