I was very happy to arrive here after a long day on the Camino Portuguese. Some aspects of the hotel appear a little dated, but my room was clean and charming and the people working there kind and helpful. Considering that breakfast is included (and they had GF options available), staying here was an affordable “splurge”!
It's right in the heart of Viana do Castelo and the rooms are very charming with a retro flare. Staff is very welcoming and helpful and there's breakfast for €8. Of you're on the Camino there's a Laundromat 2 mins away and a great restaurant called Pacovio! There's plenty of restaurants and shopping near by and it's not too far from the Saint Luzia funicular. It is by the main street so it can be noisy bring earplugs!
I stayed 3 nights in Summer. Although they are very strict about the check-in (I arrived 20 minutes early), the room was large and had air-con and a fridge. The room service was good although they didn’t replenish the shower gel… I didn’t try the breakfast as for 8 euros it seemed a lot when next door there’s a lovely café which serves coffees and delicious pastries for less than 3 euros. It is centrally located in Viana so you can walk everywhere. Clean and comfortable bed.
I had a very nice stay here while on the Camino- I needed a full rest day and was able to have that here. The shower pressure was best I have had since I started!
Really excellent location. Basic accommodation with all you need Inc toiletries. Breakfast consists of cooked meat slices, fresh fruit, pastries and coffee. Short walk to the river and restaurants nearby. Good air conditioning in an old restored building.
