Everything was perfect! The place is incredibly clean and well cared for — every detail feels just right. My room was bright and peaceful, and the common areas were cozy and calm. I also met some amazing people over breakfast :) Just a short walk from the river and the town center with lots of small cafes. Short ride to Lisbon too.

I don't like to leave reviews like this, but , needs must, so the place itself is situated in a very good location, beautiful view from balcony , but that for me is where it ends, on arrival, we couldn't get access to the main door outside as no advice was given on this , this meant we had to call the number given , phone call number 1 , she is pretty rude but I explain I have a reservation and get the main door code , she hangs up and we proceed upstairs to the apartment, it's a lock box , WITH A CODE ! We again try the code for main door and pin provided in the booking , neither work so we make another call and she gives us the code for the lock box to get the key to enter apartment, OK we are in , we check emails again for room number and don't find one so we try the pin code on reservation on every door, and the other two codes given before I call back for a third time , she takes name starts blaming booking.com and gives me yet another code, eventually we get into the room , and it wasn't worth the hassle, bad decor , very dusty and a bed that looked like it had been built very badly from scrap wood and the mattress had the biggest canyon in it and needed to be renewed , no air con and no fan , for a place facing the sun the whole day I'm sure this should be provided , it's a balcony door with glass so very hot inside , the balcony itself, great views but that's it, no chairs , a little broken table and alot of dead plants and again not been cleaned, like the floor in the room, holes in the walls , it reminded me of the movie sister act , a bed , a lamp and a desk , now the shared facilties, a toilet , very strange as when you walk through the door there is a bed in the corner and some things about like someone lives there then you need to go through another door into the toilet , just felt strange and my wife didn't feel comfortable at all as for the shower room , with a toilet also , looked good but was covered with long hair , the shower didn't work properly with hardly any water coming out , even the plant in there was dying to leave , the hand sinks filled with water as the little plug lever was broken . And to top that off , in both toilets there was no toilet paper , we had to go buy our own , just feels like the people looking after this place don't care , the matt in the shower room just looked disgusting and dirty . Now we went away for one relaxing night before starting another busy week and as this place said it had quiet hours starting from 2300 hrs until 0900 hrs I thought great , that's even better , but again that wasn't the case, woken at 5 am with loud voices , cases rolling up and down the corridor, and the lady who was shouting to other people whilst walking back and forth with high heels on , yes a wake up call we definitely didn't want , so all in all , a place with more codes than fort knox , dusty floors and also broken balcony door , a terrible bed and no toilet paper , would I return, certainly not , I'm sure there are other places near by that are alot better , thanks for the worst experience I've had .

My first trip to Portugal. Squeaky beds, door locks to be fixed, wi fi non existent when a lot of people using it, however nothing beats the atmosphere of this village
