1 / 5 Hated it. Very regimented. Had to pitch my tent at the top of a slope that was impossible to get my motorcycle up,therefore had to unload everything and park my bike at the other end of the site. There was a constant thudding noise throughout the night, probably coming from a nearby industrial area. There have been some obvious improvements to the site, but it seems that tent camping is last on the list,as motor homes are very well catered for as usual. The management would do well to take a more relaxed approach to campers whether tent, caravan or motorhome as they are all on holiday and want to enjoy the area, not have a book of rules thrust at them.
2 / 5 Two stars because the staff was really nice. The rest was rather awful. They have a booklet with rules.. I’ve never seen that before. And rest assured, rules they follow. They seem to be more important than clean and new facilities. There were no toilet seats for men, just the blank bowl. The showers were the worst we’ve seen on our trip. Much fun waiting for hot water and then properly mixing it. You’ll be either cold or hot.
Unfortunately, all dedicated RV spots were occupied. The ones for caravans weren’t, so they started sending vans and rv‘s there. But! Only to the worst and most steepest ones, where it’s guaranteed - even with levellers - that your vehicle is crooked. We climbed about 2-3% in our RV to reach the bed. The staff onsite was even willing to let us choose, but a remote boss forbid this for unknown reasons. Simply because he or she didn’t like it or the signs said it’s for caravans. Take a good look at the picture and count the caravans. The one you don’t see included.
I did not even take a look at their silly rules. Be a good camper and let your common sense guide you. So even if the price was really low. You get nothing in return but the nice smiles of the employees (who barely understand English). And rules. And signs. And bracelets.
One more thing! Make sure you are the first one to ask for the electricity to be unlocked (why it is locked?). First come first serve, no matter if they have to walk back and forth. Also make clear if it’s urgent. Otherwise, nothing will happen.
Stay away from here. Cannot recommend.
1 / 5 Don’t waste your money on this campsite. There are no activities, everything is shut down, and even the pool is closed. Hardly anyone is here with tents. You’d be better off spending time in a public park than paying to stay here. The place is also very noisy—planes overhead, traffic from a nearby highway, motorcycles all night, and even trains passing by. Not a good place to stay. The condition of the bathrooms and showers is also very poor. The water doesn’t work, the tiles are broken, and the facilities need major repairs.
4 / 5 A surprisingly quiet site, even though it’s close to the motorway, with good facilities. If you want electricity, you need onsite help to plug in and unplug from the electricity supply, but this went quickly, even though we needed to leave right at check-out time due to our flight back. As pointed out by other reviewers, for some reason all the shady spots with gravel are reserved only for caravans, so all the camper vans had to share a rather small, unshaded old tennis court, despite there being plenty of space in the other area.
5 / 5 I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Spending some time at this campsite and the truth is that we are very happy. The first few nights I stayed in one of the Bungalows, which are of amazing and much higher standard then many other campsite bungalows i've stayed in for same price or more, best so far. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly, helpful and kind. Some fo teh areas have been recently renovated and been done very well, great services for Motorhomes Yes it is a Municipal owned site which is fine, the motorway isn't far away so can be heard but not a bother at all , easy access to Lisbon if one want to go there with trian or bus. certainly great place to stay. will certainly come back
