Single room 30 per night. The receptionist can't speak English but still can understand by body language on guide for toilet, laundry & door lock. Location near to port just 5mins walk & 350m have supermarket. Bed is comfy just bedding linen a bit old. Arrived 3.30pm & check in and pay on the spot.

Beware: Check-in hours are 15.00-18.00. We arrived at 16.10 and waited until 18.00 and the receptionist never arrived. We messaged her on Booking and WhatsApp and she never replied. It’s worth your time and money to book somewhere else. We ended up booking another hotel the same price in town. We only wish we could have our two hours back. Unacceptable.

For 2 hours nobody showed up at the reception, calls were not answered and messages also not. By looking, all rooms were occupied and the two available were not cleaned (used bed sheets). We left and needed to find another hostel. The Alberge was even contacting booking.com, that we did not stayed there - fortunately, we had informed them already about the service and filed a complaint.

Could be a good place, but need a renovation ,but until then, avoid this place, seriously. It doesn’t deserve 40 EUR per night for sure, better stay in any albergue- would be much better experience. Also check-in service need to be adjusted- 2 hours of waiting without any info - too much.

If Hemingway had wandered into this pension, he might’ve wept—and not from nostalgia. A comfortable bed is the only thing this place gets right. The bathrooms are grim, the kitchen is an actual crime scene—no spoons, no care, just rusting pans and bad decisions. The host is there, physically, but emotionally checked out. No Camino warmth, no shared stories—just a cold, crumbling shell of what could’ve been something worthwhile. You get the sense the owner cashed in on pilgrim traffic with all the soul of a vending machine. Vilanova deserves better. Pilgrims deserve better. Made to fail.
