The room was okay, with a bath that was very welcome after a long day of walking. Restaurant service was also fine, with a lovely bartender who was cheerful and friendly. The location isn’t great though - the hotel is right by a road and there’s nothing else around (not even a grocery store!), which seems to allow them to charge higher room rates.

Staying here was not a great experience. The room had no heating. The only warmth a heavy blanket from in the cupboard. I wish I had opted for the Bella Amenal as I was booked for, they are owned by tge same person, as there may have been some heating.

Only ate dinner here can't comment on the rooms. Food was good, not great. Mussels and sauce were cold and from a can.Charged a euro for bread. My chiacharrones were more like pulled pork, that said, they were amazing. Just not what I was expected. With one waitress and it being busy the service was amazing.

Do NOT stay here! Worst night of my entire Camino del Norte , over 800km. As other reviewers noted, my digital pass key did not work and my regular metal room key did not work. The staff didn’t believe me the first time when checking in, 2nd time when I retrieved luggage nor 3rd time after eating dinner. I asked for a new room, it was denied. They used their pass key or used my key after their multiple strong arm attempts. Each time the wait person had to leave the restaurant building and go to the separate hotel building. Thinking perhaps they were temporarily short staffed I asked and they said it’s always like this. Also, the check in is a nightmare at the bar. I stood in a long line, each check-in was like reinventing the wheel and woman did not speak any English and kept making mistakes. There was no signage about the included breakfast or dinner hours or WIFI so she had to explain in Spanish to each English speaking guest. She could not answer any questions. Lastly, the outside temperature of 98 degrees F. was matched by the 98 degrees inside my un- airconditioned room. In an attempt to cool the room I had to open the very large window that directly faced a parking lot at ground level. This in turn led to many flies entering an landing on me all night. In closing, I was afraid to lock my door because of the faulty key/lock since I was afraid I would get locked inside. As a woman traveling alone, the unlocked door and the wide open window gave me concerns about my safety. I believe this hotel should be removed from booking agencies until they can show they have made improvements.

For all my fellow pilgrims do yourself a favor and continue to walk the extra few kilometers! After a long day of walking we walked into the hotel and the worker was super unhelpful. It seemed like they didn’t know how to check in guests and were frustrated at our group for no apparent reason!!! Not only this but when we finally got the keys to the room we noticed that other pilgrims around us were not able to open the door with their keys. My roommate and I were the only ones able to open to doors on the ENTIRE first floor. Eventually someone came to open it but they left even more annoyed at the guests. At dinner the food was mediocre and the dessert tasted like it had been sitting at the bottom of the freezer. Rooms are unclean, old, and lack common appliances. This is definitely a you get what you pay for scenario so just spend the extra euros. They did have hot water!
