This hotel was the most impressionable experience of Christian Charity I had while I journeyed on the Camino. It was simple and modest, making it perfect for a pilgrim. The married couple whom owns this hotel were the sweetest people I have ever met. Their hospitality was out done. They immediately tried to fix all within their power that our group had concerns about. It is a 2 star hotel because of the rooms, and though they needed work, the kindness shown by this couple made it a 5 star experience. The food they served us was exceptionally wonderful and was clearly made with great love. They took individual attention to each of us and still presented us with a joyful love even after we had to done so much to cause them suffering. I would stay there again and support them with hopes they can build up to afford to improve their quality of room, but that can only come by support from their guests and with their hospitality I would absolutely recommend staying. God reward them!
Easy stop going out of town. Staff was wonderful! Easy walk back to the Camino! Breakfast was delicious
Hotel is basic Camino style, the owner is so incredibly kind, he runs it alone with his family and does his best. The rooms are very basic however it’s a nice bed, great powerful shower. Breakfast was lovely. Outside of hotel is run down looking. Bar is class, he kept it open for us til late & nice grassy patch for relaxing or stretching post hike. About 15-18 min from centre of town.
There was 6 in my group each of us having our own room. 2/6 had something buzzing bug in our bed all night. 6/6 could hear guests and/restaurant goers until it closed. 6/6 could here others in hotel snoring. 4/6 had moldy or sour smelling linens. There is no elevator to rooms. It is not in town and last sign of civilization. The lights in hallways didn't always come on in evening. I loved bidet and full size tub. The dinner food is very good. However pricing was gouging $9 for a bowl of soup? I wanted to love this place but having stayed in 4 other hotels on the Camino Hotel Suiza left me realizing how good the other places were.
My friends and I arrived at Hotel Suiza in Arzua after a long day of hiking on the Camino de Santiago. We were all tired and hungry, and we were looking forward to a comfortable place to stay. The hotel is located a short distance from the Camino. The multi-storey building itself is a bit dated with no elevators. Generally, it is clean but there are a handful of instances where my friends observed some cobwebs in their rooms. We were each given a private room with a bathroom, which was a relief after the grueling hike. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were both simple but decent. The breakfast included bread, cheese, jam, eggs, yogurt, and coffee. The dinner was a more substantial meal, with soup and a main course of beef. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful but could use some extra hands given the big number of guests. Despite being short-handed, They were patient and able to attend to our questions or needs. Overall, we had a good stay at Hotel Suiza. It was a clean and comfortable place to stay specially if you are looking for a budget-friendly hotel on the Camino de Santiago.
