Albergue/Hotel in the village of Boadilla del Camino — €14 for a bed. Good points: Very good WiFi signal, even upstairs. Possibility to have meals on site, and there’s also a laundry available. Bad points: No outlet near the bed to charge your phone. Nothing to put your belongings on in the shower, and they get flooded quite quickly. The cleaning lady came several times in the morning to make sure everyone was up and getting ready to leave — it really felt like she was rushing people out as soon as possible, which was quite unpleasant. Too many people packed into a relatively small space, so the air gets heavy pretty fast. Even though I didn’t have the best experience, the place is still decent overall. I’ve definitely seen worse along the Camino, so I’d say it’s still an option worth considering for pilgrims.
Rooms and bed are okay but the whole place is very nice. Staff is kind but the restaurant was very busy and took for ever to order. Big green backyard, large space to wash and dry pelgrims clothes, publique phone charger. Very good vibe place I recommend!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my reservation 6 days before my stay. I was aware that the cancellation policy required I forfeit the full cost of my room but was hopeful that due to the nature of circumstances, they might approve my request to waive the fee. Communication with the owner was unsavory. He called, unhappy, but offered that if I wanted to swap my reservation for the night following, that was ok. He did not want to make the change through the booking system, even after I expressed my plans had changed and the room was not needed. When it became clear he would not waive the fee, I sent a message asking him to gift my private room to upgrade another pilgrimme so that it would not go to waste. His reply was for me to "come the following night," even after I had reiterated I would no longer be staying. It was a very disappointing interaction and not inline with the pilgrimme spirit of el camino. I had been excited to stay there. In the end, the interactions were so uncomfortable, even if my plans had allowed me to stay for any reason, I would have avoided the hotel. I hope no one else has this experience, and I still hope they will reconsider their decision to charge me in full.
Eduardo was an amazing host. The location was perfect, rooms were clean. Pillow, sheet and blanket on a comfortable bed, no towels. COLD Pool felt amazing after such a long hot day. Pilgrim dinner was awesome. I would definitely stay here again
