This bar serves very good breakfasts at a good value for money. Its position is also very convenient, right along the path of the Camino Santiago, so that the pilgrims walking through the village of Cacabelos stumble in it very easily, without any effort. They also have rooms as an albergue, but I did not try them. Kind people, comfortable place.
This place was perfect for the price and what we wanted. We had a dormitory bed for €13. Six beds to a room with a bathroom to those 6 beds. The bed was comfortable and had sheets and pillow case/ pillow. We had brought our own sleeping bag liner to use. The night was peaceful. We ate paella at the pub which was nice. It was also good that they continued serving food after 4pm when other places had closed for a few hours. They started serving coffee and breakfast in the pub at 7am. Only thing that could be better is if there was soap in the shared bathroom, but other than that perfect.
WARNING !!! We took a tuna pizza that smelt like a sanitary bin in a ladies toilet, the tuna can must have been open since at least a month ! We preferred to bin it better than risking the hospital or to poison a homeless...(see picture) This added to a rude manager who refused to add mushrooms on an other pizza that we didn't finish after all disgusted by the taste of cheap powdery dry cheese instead of fresh mozzarellla. Thanks god we only tried the restaurant and not the hostel, A PLACE TO AVOID AT ALL COST !
Clean and fairly well appointed but owners seemed annoyed. Maybe short staffed so I didn’t give them 3 stars but a smile always helps. Beds were not comfortable either.
Great place, this is my third time here while walking the Camino as a pilgrim to Santiago. Peaceful atmosphere, it's great to sit outside and exchange greetings with other pilgrims as they pass. Good food. My room this time has a balcony with a nice view. I've stayed in the albergue before and it's excellent, clean, comfy. Recommended.
