Hotel Casa El Cura

This is a spotless hotel. My room is extremely comfortable with really nice sheets on the bed. Very convenient when taking the alternate route on the Camino. Food was absolutely fantastic and the owners are wonderful people. Really enjoyed the family pictures that hang in n the walls! Super comfortable.

The good: we had a spacious room, a triple sharing though there was only 2 of us. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean. Adequate supplies in the bathroom. Nice and reasonably priced food. We had a taste of some delicious strawberries from the owner, Gemma's brother. She is an excellent and efficient hostess. Her husband is a great cook. What could be better: mirror in the bedroom so one's partner need not have to wait to use the bathroom mirror. Package that includes breakfast and dinner (meals are charged separately). Earlier breakfast (hotel serves it at 8am) so peregrinos can leave earlier. Note that if you want an earlier breakfast, you'll have to go to the nearby albergue. Overall, it's a good place to stay when on the Camino.

One of my favourite places on the Camino so far. The owners are so friendly & cook the best food. I had dinner and breakfast at the accomodation and it was delicious. The food was so fresh & homemade. I felt spoiled. Definitely recommend a stay here, the owners will make you feel very at home. The accomodation is super clean & comfortable as well.

Walking the Camino and took the Roman Road alternative to the Camino Frances via Calzada de los Hermanillos instead of the common route via El Burge Ranero... At the time, Hotel Casa El Cura was the only hotel I could find that had a bed for me. What a fortuitous find! The hotel is beautiful and sparkling clean: inside, the hostess has everywhere displayed 3 generations of artifacts from her family: farm tools, textile goods, and wonderful photos. There is a place to relax in the front terrace of the hotel under shade where you can listen to the birds and the buzzing of busy bees and somewhere, across the street, behind a brick wall, some chill chickens - there is another terrace in the back courtyard that gets more sun, should you need it. There is a living room to lounge, and a large restaurant area to sit and talk with other peregrinos. The second floor, where the rooms are, has a balcony from which you can look down and view the whole interior of the house. It's really a lovely, very well kept property with very laid back vibes. Staying there felt "authentic". The best part about it, however, was our hostess and host - both of whom work incredibly, incredibly hard to please their guests. The host appears to be the cook, and I can honestly say his food was some of the best I'd eaten since my arrival in Spain - delicious! He also likes to sing... Do yourself a favor - stay at this lovely Hotel Casa and enjoy some peace and quiet from the Way, which is quite busy this year, in an environment in which all your needs will be seen to and you'll eat like royalty. And then, the next day, enjoy the more secluded, quieter walk on to Reliegos or Mansilla de las Mulas (bring a picnic) - see the mountains in the distance to your right, the fields to your left, and travel deep inside yourself, feeling stronger and more energetic, primed for some spiritual awareness, after your lovely stay at Hotel Casa El Cura. I can't recommend it enough - my stay there was worth every penny.

We were three and ended up here by coincidence and very very exhausted on a very hot day! Leo and his wife welcomed us with a lot of Joy and a warm welcome at their home and we ended up haven one of the greatest and most memorable nights! The rooms are a blessing! And Leo is a wonderful, entertaining and passionate chef and spoiled us that night with our best meal! Thank you for a absolutely amazing night and the great energy!
