I really liked this site. Yes it is no frills and a little bit shabby at the seams but laid back, clean, and next to a river and pretty park, and sooo conveniently close to the delightful town of Carrion De Los Condes that was full of life, bars and great restaurants. Yes, you can only shower in daylight as there are no lights in the showers, but they're roomy, water is piping hot and it's clean. I would definitely stay here again.
Really lovely little campsite by the river. If you want peace and quiet, flat, grass pitches excellent clean facilities - even a little bar/restaurant, then this is the place. Very friendly helpful staff too. The restaurant was not serving while we were here at beginning of June but then I wouldn’t expect it to. We shared the whole site with two other vans, two cyclists and a lovely American couple touring in a tandem. And, it’s situated just 2 minutes walk from the lovely little town containing everything you could want in the way of bars, places to eat and northern Spain culture. Just perfect.
Quiet, relaxed site with big pitches and lots of space. Showers hot, staff extremely helpful. 2 minutes walk into town, famous for it's links to the Camino de Santiago. Bar on site that does excellent coffee.
I read the recent reviews and was very hesitant to come here. However it's not all bad. As a solo cyclist I paid 14 eur which is okayish. Pitches have decent grass which is rare in other Spain campsites in my experience. It's by the river which makes a background noise. The pitch doesn't have many trees however so on really hot days it might be bad. After around 6pm most of the pitch is under the river tree shade. Toilets are ok. Showers are a bit dated but you can use them. Showers get light from the corridor - there is a switch. Not sure if electric outlets work on the pitch (ask before coming). If owner isn't on site he might be in Los Condes because he's apparently running both establishments
This is the campground I've been looking for during my several month tour of Spain! Perfect setting, quiet, good facilities and a host with a great personality. I was getting tired of the crowding (and snoring) at my previous pilmgridge abergues. If you're bicycle touring, a pilmgridge, a tourist ... must stay here!
