Very clean place run by nuns, with a well-equipped kitchen. €7 for a bed, which is very cheap. No issues with WiFi or hot water, which is very much appreciated. However, they pack all the pilgrims into the smallest dorm with the least space, leaving the other one completely empty. Naturally, this means there are a lot of people in the same room, and it really feels quite cramped. Overall, I had a good experience there despite the lack of space. I’d say it’s a decent option for those walking the Camino.

Great place to stay in Carrion de los Condes as a Pilgrim on the way to Santiago de Compostela! Good price, great facilities, fully equipped kitchen, amazing location! Beautiful garden, activities and kind staff and hosts.

we love the singing nuns! It did feel a bit crowded and there’s only one shower and two restrooms for each gender but everything is well kept and very clean. They have a communal potluck dinner that is optional and it is a great way to meet new people.

we chose to stay at a truly legendary place called albergue parroquial santa maría, lovingly run by the augustinian sisters - a highlight for many pilgrims on the camino. known for their gentle presence, hospitality and joyful singing, these sisters offer not just a bed but a deep sense of spiritual connection. each evening they invite pilgrims to join in prayer, music and reflection and offer a beautiful blessing ceremony that touches hearts and often brings people to tears. upon arrival we waited a little at the door and then sister ashley welcomed us in with warmth and joy. the albergue is simple but full of care with a big kitchen and a peaceful vibe. no communal dinner today, so horsie and i went to explore the town and pick up ingredients for our camino classics: fresh spinach salad and our best-loved camino soup - spinach with eggs and noodles 🥰 in the evening we gathered in the church. our nuns host daily vespers there around 5:30 pm, featuring their angelic singing that many pilgrims describe as therapeutic and soul‑stirring. afterwards came a short prayer and singing session with the sisters, who invited each of us to share something - a song, a quote, a reason why we walk the camino. a beautiful moment that instantly opened hearts and started new conversations. our international singing circle was fairly spontaneous but full of laughter. at 7pm mass began in the church, followed by the pilgrims’ blessing. already at 8pm i felt exhausted in the best way by the end of it. grateful for a restful stop and the kindness of the sisters 🥰

We happened to be here during the nationwide blackout on April 28. The nuns were incredibly kind — they served us tea while we waited to check in. Check-in was smooth: we simply scanned a QR code and filled in our details, which also saved time on card payments. They also offer disposable sheets and pillowcases for €1 each. A peaceful and thoughtful place to stay!
