we stayed at this albergue a few weeks ago and even managed to get our own room. the lady running the albergue was really helpful. it has a bar and restaurant which was busy and a good atmosphere. great stop on the Camino Frances
i really liked it here for a stop on the camino! the food was great, wine and beer til 2230 and coffee/breakfast in the morning. beds were cozy and everyone was as incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Wonderful spotless dorms on the top floor with vaulted ceilings, wood beam accents, skylight (windows), daily sanitized rooms with fresh pressed fitted linens + pillow cases. High Capacity - Coin operated self laundry, lounge area with sofas, chess table, kettle and access to balcony with drying rack. Hiking shoe racks in common area help keep dorms clean and smelling fresh. WC's, showers, basin areas are well designed for shared access. Wifi worked great too. Staff does an incredible job here of running the private rooms, the pilgrim dorms, the bar that also is a meeting place for people of the town as well as travellers passing thru on motorcycle and road trips. Order from the complete menu (large portions) in the dinning room after 7:30PM, reservation recommended. Wholesome, well seasoned regional dishes with fresh ingredients as well as comfort food items (burgers & wings) for international travellers. Reservations and prompt arrival are required to join the set price group dinner for pilgrims. Casual bites offered in the bar. From Spanish Tortillas, Bocadillos (sandwiches), to Croquetas (mushroom, or ham) are all delicious. Breakfast avail in the bar starting at 8am - wonderful coffee! Fresh pressed orange juice, croissants, napolitanas, + toast with butter and preserves or Spanish classic tostada de“pan con tomate” (tomato pulp, olive oil, salt). Great food, excellent service, fair prices and a really lovely rural hostel/hotel property in a lush beautiful area.
Really nice place! I was happy to find a bed here, beds was comfortable, clean all areas, nice bar area and lovely people working there. And thank you so much for the lovely Pilgrim meal! Soooo good! A must stay if you go past there on your Camino journey or any other.
I stayed here while walking the Camino. It’s a great job after crossing the Pyrenees on day one. It’s about 30 km from St John. I booked a private room but it was almost comfortable because I’ve slept in. I said it was pretty good too and well priced.
