1 / 5 The worst treatment we experienced on the Camino! At first, everything seemed alright; the owner doesn't speak a word of English, but that’s fine. We were shown to our bunk bed, and that was that. However, as we were checking the mattress for bed bugs, as we always do and as is common practice in hostels, the owner came in to show another pilgrim around and started shouting at us for doing so. He took offense and was extremely arrogant, screaming something in Spanish in our faces, which we understood as threats to kick us out and accusations of being dirty. If you despise pilgrims, do not run a business that serves them! A nice garden does not make up for poor treatment. Fix your attitude first. DO NOT GO!
1 / 5 I stayed here overnight on 16/09/23.
The experience was awful. The host is rude and unapproachable, advertises ‘laundry service’ but told me ‘no, you hand wash’ I was late arriving so my clothes would not have dried.
I asked what time my breakfast was as this was included with my booking through ‘Follow the Camino’ I was told no breakfast. I was not allowed a glass to drink out of.
All I can advise is that you do not go here, your stay will be the most unpleasant. If booked through a company, refuse.
Oh and if you do decide this is the place for you, there is a mop and bucket for you to clean the shower floor!
5 / 5 By far the best place have stayed on this trip. It’s literally on the Camino, the welcome and service that you recibe throughout is amazing. They helped me with some materials to do a little maintenance on my bike. And normally I like to pop and and get something to eat, but when I smelled what the owner was cooking, I asked to stay and join the dinner.
1 / 5 I was made to feel really unwelcome. I have never been spoken to on the Camino like the man did. He yelled at me in Spanish several times during my stay - this was in response to 'the garden is beautiful' and 'are you serving Coffee' (in the morning at breakfast time, whilst he was in the kitchen).
I feel the man has forgotten the ways of the Camino - please have some patience as the only person you're upsetting by getting angry is yourself. And by doing so, you're effecting other people and their Camino in a negative way. Buen Camino.
5 / 5 I never do reviews, but I want to do it because I ask those who post such negative reviews on the web if they work on their own and think about it, that with these actions, that seem easy and light, can ruin people's lives .... I'm the only one pilgrim in the hostel, because I asked a lady how it was, since she had such bad reviews, and she told me it was a beautiful place...
I came and it is.
Yes, the owner is a man not so talkative, but no other negativity .... And we sometimes can do even without mum, it can also be okay, in exchange for a nice and clean place, with an wonderful garden and patio, that is kept with so much care...
