It's not as bad as you read in the comments. Correct place, with clean bathroom, fridge, and leisure time room. The bed also not so bad. Give it a chance, I didn't regret.
2 showers for quite a large place, no kitchen as they want to sell their own crap. They even charged me for the toxic plastic 'sheet'. Noisy doors and creaking beds, not a pleasant stay.
Indeed a "special" experience. Was the absolute only available place left with beds. Checking in is ok. Basic albergue with little services and no kitchen. But very nice outside yard where you can wash clothes and mostly, spend some alone time under the stars in the night (they don't close the inside doors). Beds: can be challenging depending on who's around you. Dude above me moved all the time. And next to me snored like there is no tomorrow (really, should get CPAP treatment urgently). And in the morning they ENFORCE exit by 7:30am. Frankly I'm happy I tried it (did I have the choice?) to get a benchmark and appreciate all other places. After all this is a pilgrimage, not tourism. Don't expect much and be happy when what you get is nice. You won't faint at this place, and it will remind you of the privileges you get elsewhere (16 Euros is a lot for a night sleep and a shower, seriously?) But you'd probably enjoy more the other albergues that are around Buen Camino 😊
Shower had only two and the water was a bit cold. Literally no kitchen but a small fridge and a microwave. Dorm poorly designed, there are room inside a room, so you literally have to walk pass other room to go to toilet. 15euros for this is ridiculous.
Municipal, so you expect just the basics. But it is absolutely rudimentary. Crowded rooms with no heating so make sure you have a good bag or quilt. The proprietors don't seem to have bothered to make any effort to do more than the minimal. Bathroom basic, 2 showers with warm water and hardly anywhere to hang stuff. Only good point is that they take reservations and as options in Fromista are then, we were grateful.
