Great refugee simply. It's the official refugee of Saint jean pied de port. Which means in in their guide. And they have a special deal with cheap living for the pilgrims. This means that it's far cheaper than the other hostels nearby, that goes as high as 75€. So don't even bother looking for another, this is the cheapest, almost always rooms available, more rooms than the others, same service honestly. The host lady here is very nice too! And there can be free stuff here sometimes, depending on who wanna share some of their stuff here.

A great place to spend the night before the camino. Facilities are basic, bunk room and shared showers, toilets and small kitchen, but perfectly clean and acceptable. I found it very easy to get chatting with other pilgrims. Note however that the kitchen doesn’t have a hob/oven, but one can be used at the tourist office. The view of the surrounding valley from the bedrooms is particularly good and was a highlight of the stay.

Nestled near the top of a hill in Pied du Port, the Albergue Municipal provides not just a place to rest but a scenic overlook that captures the beauty of the surrounding area. During my stay, the panorama from this hostel was a breathtaking introduction to the charm of the region, making the somewhat strenuous climb up the hill well worth the effort. For a mere 13 euros a night, the value offered by Albergue Municipal SJPP is exceptional. The hostel includes convenient amenities such as laundry and hang-dry services, which are a boon for travelers like myself looking to refresh after days spent journeying. These practical services, coupled with the hostel’s affordability, make it an ideal stop for pilgrims and budget travelers alike. While the beds in the dormitory are admittedly old and creaky, they are part of the hostel's rustic appeal. The building itself maintains a pleasant aesthetic with clean common areas that invite guests to relax and mingle. The atmosphere here encourages a communal spirit, common in pilgrim accommodations, where stories and experiences are shared freely among travelers from all walks of life. Albergue Municipal SJPP strikes a fine balance between cost, comfort, and convenience. Though the sleeping arrangements are basic, the cleanliness of the facility and the breathtaking views more than compensate. This hostel is a recommended choice for those passing through Pied du Port, offering a memorable stay that’s hard to beat for the price. Whether you're starting or finishing a day on the Camino de Santiago, this albergue provides a peaceful retreat to recharge and reflect on the journey ahead.

Attention pilgrims, thieves enter at night to steal money bad experience, my money was stolen during the night by a man and a woman who entered the dormitory at 3 am. be careful they search everywhere pretending to be pilgrims looking for a bed to sleep. I had earplugs in my ears I didn't hear them but saw them until I went to the bathroom at 3:30. once they saw them they left. in the morning my money was gone.
