Accommodation was exactly as I expected AND Sabine was over the top helpful:) I had many questions as it was my first night on the Camino. Thank you so much for a great start, a comfortable bed and a warm welcome. Barb
We took a day trip from San Sebastián to this beautiful town and, as vegetarians/vegans, were trying to find food for lunch. Two of the three of us ordered here (only 3 things on the entire menu) and the vegan in our group bought some fruit and tofu from the grocery next door and sat down at the outdoor table with us. The owner kicked him out and we were the ONLY people sitting at this totally empty restaurant. Food was average and service was rude and unwelcoming. She told us “this is France”.
The place is clean, quiet and has friendly staff. The house is beautiful, full of Basque charm. You can wash your clothes there which was great. Overall it’s a great place to stay when staying in St Jean!

Sabine was an exceptional host. She went out of her way to help us when we made an error with our booking. The rooms were very comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast was great. I cannot recommend Zuharpeta hostel and bar highly enough. Lovely stay, Merci!
