We were here two days ago and I would definitely stay whenever I will be in Pied de port. Super nice couple who welcomed us and gave es sumptuos and delicious french food. I 100% recommend it as it would be a peaceful place to rest given that it can only accommodate 10 pilgrims a night. Nice and clean place as well!
A bit further from the busy, or central, part of SJPP, but it was good. You didn't have to walk far to get to the first marker for the route to Roncesvalles. The hospitaliers were very hospitable and helpful. And it was the best time I'd had with my fellow pilgrims during my camino. The food was wonderful! (We were told later that the cook was actually a chef at a prominent hotel restaurant!) Before and during the meal, conversation was engaging. And after the meal, they suggested we sing. I think people were willing, but were shy. Then an Italian man started. And a guitar was brought out and everyone joined in with familiar songs (eg. 'Hallelujah', 'Je ne regrette rien'). I think we would've gone on 'til late if the majority of us did not plan to start out early (as recommended) for our trek over the Pyrenees. Another pilgrim accommodation I highly recommend!👍🏼❣️
A beautifull end point to my journey lovely hosts making everybody feel so welcome giving advice and help to new pilgrims and filling their bellies with plenty of food a wholesome experience and leave with happy memories many thanks until next time...
Literally the best place to stay at. The dinner was wonderful, and the hosts are very kind.
In 2017 I met the woman who is today my wife in this hostel, I am very happy I chose to walk into this particular alberque
